Tamil people are disillusioned with the Donor Co-Chairs for not in exerting pressure on Colombo to address the fundamental humanitarian issues that are critically affecting the day-to-day lives of the Tamil people, LTTE told the visiting Norwegian Ambassador, Mr Hans Brattskar, during a meeting held at the LTTE Peace Secretariat Wednesday. Denial of basic humanitarian needs requires equal and urgent attention, besides addressing selected Human Rights violations by the Sri Lankan state, Thamilchelvan further told the Mr Brattskar. The Ambassador was on a two-day visit to Ki'linochchi Wednesday and Thursday, according to LTTE's Peace Secretariat officials.

The Co-chairs have failed to give attention to key issues affecting the Tamil people, including, continued closure of A9 highway, the only landroute to Jaffna peninsula, the resettlement of tens of thousands of internally dispalced refugees in the East, and the establishment of a new High Security Zones designed to evict Tamils from their traditional areas in Trincomalee, Thamilchelvan is reported to have told Mr Brattskar.

The LTTE delegation also pointed out that the aid received by the Sri Lankan state is being spent on projects that support Sri Lanka's military infrastructure, including construction of roads in militarily strategic areas.

The Norwegian Ambassador Hans Brattskar told media, after his meeting with the LTTE in Ki'linochchi Wednesday that he was on a routine visit to meet with the LTTE.

Tamileelam Police Chief B. Nadesan, Director of LTTE's Peace Secretariat S. Puleedevan, LTTE Military Spokesman Irasiah Ilanthirayan and LTTE Human Rights Spokeperson N. Selvy accompanied Thamilchelvan to the meeting.
